How we got here.
Thirty-four years, four chapters. No retrospective polish, just what actually happened on the way to Octopus Plus.
- 1992
A small office in Marmaris.
Erol Türk and İsmet Çelebi founded SAN — Software Automation Network — with one belief: the tourism industry deserves real software, not patched-together spreadsheets. The first customer shipped that same year on a product called Sejour. Both are still around.
- 2000–2007
Antalya, and then the world.
We moved the team to Antalya in 2000. The first international deal landed in Egypt the next year. Cairo and Istanbul offices followed in 2005. TourVisio shipped in 2006, and by 2007 R&D had settled into Antalya Teknokent, where it still sits today.
- 2012–2019
Going global, in writing.
Crossed fifty countries in 2012, sixty-eight by 2016. Became an official Sabre partner. Integrated Galileo and Amadeus. Opened Teknokent R&D 5 in 2019. The product family widened with Abacus, SanFlight, Paximum, and TravelsYou, each one solving a specific seam in the operator stack.

More than 750 DMCs and tour operators across 80+ countries run on the SAN TSG stack. Octopus Plus collapses three decades of those operating decisions into a single platform: purchasing, sales, operations, reporting and pre-accounting for DMCs and tour operators. Modular, in the browser, no external data mapping. The version we wished existed in 1992, built with the operators who taught us what to fix.
Ten values. Four that don’t move.
Internally we keep a list of ten. These are the four that carry the most weight day to day, and the ones that settle most of the arguments before the meeting starts.
Customer-first.
Every design call is settled by one question: does it make a Monday morning easier for the operator at the desk? Anything that doesn’t earn its keep on that question gets cut.
Excellence as the floor.
Highest-standard service is the bar, from the first scoping call to the third year of running on the platform. We measure ourselves against global competition, not the local one.
Trust, in writing.
Transparency, continuity, mutual respect, honesty. We say what we’ll deliver, deliver it, and put it on the record so nobody has to remember the conversation.
Always current.
Tourism moves every week; the platform has to move with it. We track the sector, reinvest in R&D, and ship visible improvements every quarter. Thirty-four years and counting.
